Community Initiatives

We feel very strongly that BCB children should become involved in the wider world and specifically learn to be proactive and make things better for all. Our school ethos and pastoral work underpins this. Additionally, as a school community we are active in supporting charitable organisations and achieving positive change.

We feel very strongly that pupils should become involved in the wider world and specifically learn to be proactive and make things better for all. Our school ethos and pastoral work underpins this. Additionally, as a school community we are active in supporting charitable organisations and achieving positive change.

We support a local organisation; Arca do Saber by actively engaging with children throughout each academic year. Arca do Saber is based in Vila Prudente, one of the favelas in Sao Paulo.  It is a pedagogical centre for extremely impoverished children aged between 6 and 13.  It is partially funded by its own craft workshop, subsidies and donations.  We feel that this is an excellent charity for the families of BCB to support.

Events which have been organised have included our annual Christmas Fayres, Christmas Gift Giving, Various Donation Drives and our Annual Winter Fayres.

Through our Donation Drives and Christmas Gift Giving, the children at BCB have gleaned a greater understanding of how they can help those less fortunate than themselves.  Our children particularly enjoy singing our Arca song, which reminds them what they can do to help the children of Arca.

Due to the hard work of the EFG and the dedicated staff of BCB, the children are gaining a greater understanding of the need to help others.  Through the events which are organised during the year, the children of BCB are growing up to become greater citizens with a much better understanding and commitment to aiding those less fortunate than themselves.
